Alejandro (Alex) Galvez-Pol, PhD.

I’m a cognitive neuroscientist in the Psychology Department of the _University of the Balearic Islands_ (Spain). I am also collaborating with the Institute of Cognitive Neuroscience, University College London.

I obtained my PhD in Cognitive Neuroscience at City, University of London, and did a postdoctoral fellowship (with James M. Kilner) at Queen Square, University College London. I was also a visiting researcher at the Max Planck Institute. Next, I went back to my origins: the Univ. of the Balearic Islands, where I am developing new paradigms using electrophysiological methods. I’m establishing a new line of research studying how people freely interact with the environment (active sensing). I’m particularly interested in examining how information originating from within the body (interoception) shapes our active engagement with stimuli and people.
