Welcome to the Active Cognition, Embodiment & Environment Lab! We use electrophysiological methods to study how humans actively sense and interact with their environment, moving beyond traditional views of passive perception.
By exploring active sensing—how organisms use movement, such as shifting their eyes or hands, to gather information—we investigate how internal bodily states (interoception) influence these interactions. This emerging field offers new insights into the relationship between interoception and sensory processing.
We are located in the Psychology Department at the University of the Balearic Islands (Spain). Our lab is built upon multidisciplinary collaborations with institutions such as University College London and the Max Planck Institute.
